It took the Philadelphia 76ers 27 contests but they finally notched their 16th game win of the season. The 76ers soundly defeated the Detroit Pistons 123-98 on Saturday night at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

“It’s not something I want to be a part of,” 76ers guard Michael Carter-Williams said following the game, via the Associated Press “so it’s great that we got this win.”

The 76ers scored a season high 70 points in the first half in what proved to be a blowout win.

The 76ers 26 straight losses equaled the 2010-11 Cleveland Cavaliers and the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who dropped 26 straight from Sept. 12, 1976-Dec. 4, 1977. By winning on Saturday night they avoided being alone with 27 consecutive losses.

Up next for the 76ers is Atlanta is Monday night.
