The Detroit Pistons have fired Maurice Cheeks as their head coach. With 50 games played the Pistons were 21-29 under Cheeks who was fired on Sunday morning according to Yahoo! Sports.
Before coming to Detroit, Cheeks previously coached the Portland Trail Blazers and Philadelphia 76ers.
Cheeks, 57, owns a 305-315 career record over parts of nine seasons. As a player he was a four-time NBA All-Star during a career that lasted 15 seasons.
