After<br \/>\nSaturday&#8217;s race at Bristol Motor Speedway, Childers employment at<br \/>\nMichael Waltrip Racing was terminated. Childers had been serving as<br \/>\nthe crew chief of the No. 55 car which had been driven by Mark<br \/>\nMartin and Brian Vickers in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. With<br \/>\nVickers assuming the seat fulltime next season and Childers leaving<br \/>\nthe organization MWR figured it was best to go ahead and get ready<br \/>\nfor the 2014 season 12 races early and parted ways with the veteran<br \/>\ncrew chief. Childers had been a race winning crew chief three times<br \/>\nat MWR, most recently with Vickers at New Hampshire. MWR has yet to<br \/>\nmake an announcement on who will be the crew chief of the No. 55<br \/>\ncar for this Sunday&#8217;s night race at Atlanta.
