One driver looking to hit the so-called reset button is Trevor Bayne.

Bayne spoke to Tireball Sports and termed the off weeks as a “good time to try new things” but the 22-year-old said “they better be ready because there are not a lot of off weeks after this.”

After this weekend there is only one remaining week off for the Nationwide Series.

Currently Bayne is sixth in the series standings, 47 points behind Sam Hornish Jr. Driving for a team that has won the last two driver championships provides some confidence for Bayne.

“Having Mike Kelley and a team that has proved itself is big. I only have to think about driving the car.” Bayne told Tireball Sports.

That car is the No. 6 at Roush Fenway Racing, a machine which has often been linked to Valvoline. This year RFR and Valvoline announced a continuation of their partnership.

RFR will use Valvoline NextGen in their race cars this season. Vavoline Next Gen will also be primary sponsor on Bayne’s car for the June 22 race at Road America.

Bayne termed the continuing sponsorship as something that is “great to have on the car.”

Here are a few of Trevor’s other answers from our interview:

TIREBALL: Do you watch cup races you are not participating in?

TREVOR BAYNE: Quite a bit. I often stay behind at the track, listen to the scanner. It’s harder to watch on television but hearing that scanner can tell you a lot about what guys are trying.

TIREBALL: What were you thinking with the end of the Hamlin/ Logano finish at Auto Club?

TREVOR BAYNE: They had plenty of opportunities before that. They want to wreck their cars that is on them.

TIREBALL. Who do you enjoy racing with in the Nationwide Series? What about Sprint Cup series?

TREVOR BAYNE: It’s all the same. You notice the ones you don’t wanna be be around.

TIREBALL: What’s your personal code of conduct on the track?

TREVOR BAYNE: How you race me is how I race you… I think Tony Stewart is one of the best in the give and take.

TIREBALL: You’ve won the Daytona 500 and that was epic, is there any other specific track that you would really want to win at or it would mean a lot for you to win at?

TREVOR BAYNE: The next one, I enjoy the Nationwide car but I think the one that would be the best would be Bristol. Being the home town track and home town crowd,so Bristol or Atlanta. Obviously something like the Brickyard or Coca-Cola 600.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series returns to action next weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.
