Most of the details involve placement of sponsors but the one which will gain the most attention will be the placement of driver names on the front windshield.<\/p>\n<div>The sixth-generation car look will debut with the opening of the 2013 Speedweeks, highlighted by the 55th running of the Daytona 500 on February 24 at Daytona International Speedway. Below is a list of the updates released by NASCAR.<\/div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>The driver\u2019s last name featured on the windshield<\/li>\n<li>Sponsor decals will not be permitted on the headlights and taillights, two key distinguishing characteristics of the auto manufacturers\u2019 brand;<\/li>\n<li>Car numbers will be moved from the lights to the front and rear bumpers;<\/li>\n<li>A single sponsor logo will be permitted on the roof under the number;<\/li>\n<li>Team sponsor decals will be permitted to extend past the front edge of the b-post;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Step and repeat&#8221; \/ background patterns will be permitted on the sides of the car;<\/li>\n<li>Due to the slightly smaller car, the car number will be reduced by 10% and the contingency decals will be reduced to 26 square inches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>&#8220;These changes are an extension of the unprecedented collaboration with the auto manufacturers on the 2013 car, great industry feedback and our focus on increasing fan affinity as part of NASCAR\u2019s Industry Action Plan,&#8221; said Steve O\u2019Donnell, NASCAR senior vice president of racing operations, who introduced the new design at Homestead-Miami Speedway today.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5018\" title=\"fordcomp2\" src=\"http:\/\/tireball.com\/nascar\/files\/2012\/11\/fordcomp2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"471\" height=\"160\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tireball.com\/nascar\/files\/2012\/11\/fordcomp2.jpg 471w, http:\/\/tireball.com\/nascar\/files\/2012\/11\/fordcomp2-300x101.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 471px) 100vw, 471px\" \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Saturday NASCAR released the details for how sponsors will be displayed on the upcoming new car for 2013.
