Greg Biffle, driver of the No.16 Ford Fusion for Roush Fenway Racing won the pole for Saturday nights Bank of America 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Biffle set a new track record of 193.708mph in winning his twelfth career pole and third of 2012.<\/p>\n

\"\"“I was super excited after that lap,” Biffle said. “I drove it off into Turn one further than I thought it was going to work, and the car hooked the bottom and stuck. When he told me the lap time…I knew at that point it was a track record. I was pretty excited about it.”<\/p>\n

Mark Martin will start second followed by Ryan Newman third.<\/p>\n

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will not be in the race due to a concussion he suffered during last weekends race at Talladega. Regan Smith will take over his ride for the next two races.<\/p>\n

A.J Allmendinger qualified 38th in the No.51 for Phoenix Racing in his first start back since his suspension and dismissal from Penske Racing.<\/p>\n

Joe Nemechek, Josh Wise, Scott Riggs and Cole Whitt were the “go or go homers” that unfortunately didn’t qualify for the race.<\/p>\n
