{"id":433,"date":"2010-02-10T01:15:22","date_gmt":"2010-02-10T05:15:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tireball.com\/?p=433"},"modified":"2010-02-10T01:15:22","modified_gmt":"2010-02-10T05:15:22","slug":"astros-want-to-bring-back-willy-t","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/tireball.com\/nascar\/2010\/02\/10\/astros-want-to-bring-back-willy-t\/","title":{"rendered":"Astros want to bring back Willy T"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I suppose<a href=\"http:\/\/view.picapp.com?iid=5505405&amp;term=%5c%22willy+taveras\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"border: 0pt none\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.picapp.com\/ftp\/Images\/9\/4\/0\/c\/MLB_Cincinnati_Reds_41af.JPG?adImageId=10099032&amp;imageId=5505405\" border=\"0\" alt=\"MLB: Cincinnati Reds at Los Angeles Dodgers\" width=\"234\" height=\"268\" \/><\/a> this isn&#8217;t a surprise but Houston Astros GM Ed Wade said that the club was interested in bringing back speedy outfielder Willy Taveras.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last 2 years Taveras has totaled 93 stolen bases of course he&#8217;s also seen his OPS go from a career best of .367 in 2007 down to .308 and .275 over the same time span.<\/p>\n<p>Taveras would act as a fourth\/fifth outfielder with the Astros and would likely provide Michael Bourn with occasional off days.<\/p>\n<p>Placing Taveras in that role wouldn&#8217;t be a bad fit for either side. The Astros will have full access to his legs as a pinch runner and he&#8217;s proven to be capable enough to rove around Minute Maid Park.
