{"id":4040,"date":"2012-10-05T13:52:16","date_gmt":"2012-10-05T17:52:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tireball.com\/?p=4040"},"modified":"2012-10-05T13:52:16","modified_gmt":"2012-10-05T17:52:16","slug":"nascar-nationwide-series-will-not-race-at-montreal-in-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/tireball.com\/nascar\/2012\/10\/05\/nascar-nationwide-series-will-not-race-at-montreal-in-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"NASCAR Nationwide Series will not race at Montreal in 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The NASCAR Nationwide Series will not return to the Circuit Gilles Villeneueve road course in Montreal next season, ending a six-year run for the event.<\/p>\n<p>Promoter Francois Dumontier announced Friday the end of the agreement, which had been operated on a year-to-year basis.<\/p>\n<p>NASCAR said it wanted to return to Montreal, but could not work out a sanctioning agreement with Dumontier&#8217;s promotion group.<\/p>\n<p>The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is hoping to run an event in Canada next season. Mosport International Raceway in Toronto is believed to be the preferred location.<\/p>\n<p>The Nationwide Series is planning to run 33 events next season. A new market may be added to replace the event in Montreal.
