Greg Biffle, driver of the No. 16 3M Ford Fusion for Roush Fenway Racing found himself in victory lane this weekend after outrunning Brad Keselowski on a two lap shoot out.<\/p>\n
Jimmie Johnson seemed like he was about to get an easy win at a track he had not won at before until he started having engine issues.<\/p>\n
Shortly after Biffle took the lead, Johnson’s engine expired and he was headed to the garage.<\/p>\n
Johnson’s engine blowing up brought out the last caution of the race, bunching Biffle, Keselowski and teammate Carl Edwards up for a two lap shoot out for the win.<\/p>\n
Biffle got a good restart and was able to hold off Keselowski for his second win of this season. Biffle’s other win came at Texas in the Spring.<\/p>\n
Upon entering victory lane, Biffle proclaimed, “We’re going to make a run at the title. I know they don’t talk about us a lot, but they will when we get to Vegas,”<\/p>\n
Biffle has now won at Michigan three times in his career. This marks his 18th career win.<\/p>\n
This race also broke Ford and Jack Roush’s seven-race dry spell.<\/p>\n
With Biffle’s win, he now takes the points lead with a lead of 20 points over teammate Matt Kenseth.<\/p>\n
Keselowski finished second, Kasey Kahne third, June’s race winner Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished fourth and Marcos Ambrose rounded out the top five finishing fifth.<\/p>\n
With the point reset at the start of the Chase, Biffle would currently be three points behind Johnson, Keselowski and Tony Stewart.<\/p>\n
