Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin had what appeared to be a normal conversation until Logano placed his hand on Hamlin as he was set to walk away. Hamlin, having none of that, attempted to get back at Logano.<\/p>\n<p>The two drivers spoke about the incident.<\/p>\n<p tabindex=\"0\">&#8220;We were having a discussion, everything was civil, and then like Joey does, he does a little push and then runs away.\u00a0 So that\u2019s Joey.\u00a0 Scared\u00a0\u2011\u2011 he said, \u201cDo you want to go?\u201d\u00a0 I said, \u201cYes, I\u2019m here.\u201d\u00a0 But then he runs away,&#8221; said Hamlin about what started the incident on pit road.<\/p>\n<p tabindex=\"0\">Hamlin contends close racing on the track led to the incident, &#8220;It looks like we got together, and it looks like collateral damage.\u00a0 He blew a tire.\u00a0 I mean, he would probably say, oh, short track racing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p tabindex=\"0\">Logano admits frustrations still exist between Hamlin and himself.<\/p>\n<p tabindex=\"0\">&#8220;I just wanted to talk to him about it and was pretty frustrated.\u00a0 He just kind of came off the corner like there wasn\u2019t another car on the outside of him and ruined our day.\u00a0 A shot at the win for sure.\u00a0 We probably weren\u2019t going to beat the 19, but we had a top 5 for sure coming our way, but we just were able to survive there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p tabindex=\"0\">The driver of the No. 22 did confirm that contact between the two led to the confrontation.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The bad news: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/joeylogano?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@JoeyLogano<\/a> spun around.<\/p>\n<p>The good: He somehow kept the No. 22 car off the wall. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/NASCARPlayoffs?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#NASCARPlayoffs<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kYWETKrQtO\">pic.twitter.com\/kYWETKrQtO<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NASCAR on NBC (@NASCARonNBC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NASCARonNBC\/status\/1188583129591812097?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 27, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p tabindex=\"0\">&#8220;I don\u2019t really know what happened because once he started hitting me he didn\u2019t lift, he just kept finishing me off.\u00a0 We ran each other fine all day, so I don\u2019t know.\u00a0 I don\u2019t really know what happened.\u00a0 He just kind of sends me up there and keeps on going with it.\u00a0 Cut down my tires and fender rubs everywhere.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p tabindex=\"0\">Still Logano finds himself frustrated following his talk with Hamlin, &#8220;I honestly just wanted to see what he was going to say, and he really wasn\u2019t apologetic at all.\u00a0 That\u2019s more frustrating when someone is like that, isn\u2019t it?\u00a0 When someone wrecks you and he\u2019s like, meh, that\u2019s not really what I was going for there.\u00a0 I just wanted to see what his thoughts were, and wasn\u2019t quite the answer I was looking for.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tensions overflowing at @MartinsvilleSwy! @joeylogano and @dennyhamlin get into an altercation on pit road! #NASCARPlayoffs pic.twitter.com\/bBIBuS0A7W \u2014 NASCAR (@NASCAR) October 27, 2019 Following the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway two drivers got into a pit road scuffle.
