The first running of a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race without a restrictor plate since 1987 takes place this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.<\/p>\n

On the pole at the 2.66-mile track is Austin Dillon in the No. 3.<\/p>\n

Joey Logano who won this event last spring starts eighth while fall winner Aric Almirola will roll off second.<\/p>\n

The Geico 500 is set to be 188 laps with stage breaks at lap 55 and lap 110.<\/p>\n
