William Byron goes from the Xfinity Series to full time Cup Series driver in one year.<\/p>\n

Byron, 20, will take over the wheel of the No. 24 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports for the 2018 season after a wildly successful season at the Xfinity Series.\"\"<\/p>\n

Last season Byron won four races on his way to a series championship adding 12 top-5’s and 22 top-10’s along the way. This came one year after notching seven wins in the Camping World Truck Series.<\/p>\n

Byron takes over the No. 24 from Chase Elliott who will now drive the No. 9<\/a>, a number which has importance to his family.<\/p>\n

Axalta remains on the car and Liberty University continues it’s association with Byron for the 2018 season.<\/p>\n
