CONOVER, NC- With funding in place, Morgan Shepherd is set to return ot the high banks of Daytona for the PowerShares QQQ 300, the first race of the 2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. The event will mark Shepherd\u2019s 97th race at the famed superspeedway.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur Camaro is coming together nicely,\u201d says Shepherd. \u201cIt\u2019s from the Childress shop, so we know it\u2019s a fast car. And now that Tony Furr has come on board as crew chief, I think we\u2019re starting out pretty well.\u201d<\/p>\n
Furr, who has served a crew chief for Henrick Motorsports, Petty Enterprises, Felix Sabates Racing and Cale Yarborough Racing among others, knows his way around a superspeedway car. \u201cMorgan\u2019s got a good ride for Daytona, there\u2019s no doubt about that,\u201d states Furr. \u201cWe just have to get it prepared properly so when we unload, we are competitive from the get go.\u201d<\/p>\n
The team still has some sponsorship spots available for the Daytona race. According to CM2\u2019s Nick Amadio, \u201cWhile we\u2019re glad that the funding is there to get to Daytona, we still have room for a few more marketing partners for the #89 Camaro.
