Denny Hamlin\u00a0won the opening race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Chase.<\/p>\n

The driver of the No. 11 FedEx Toyota Camry\u00a0beat out teammate Carl Edwards\u00a0to take the checkered flag in the MyAFibRisk.com 400. Hamlin overcame a spin on lap 2 of the race which saw him go to the back of the field.<\/p>\n

One driver who has a lot of work to do going forward is Kevin Harvick after an on-track incident sent him to the garage for remains leaving him multiple laps down.<\/p>\n

Kurt Busch would gain the race lead in the later stages but with a late caution he stayed out on older tires while nearly all of the other Chase contenders came down pit road. Denny Hamlin – also on old tires – would take to lead with six to go as teammate Carl Edwards moved into second.<\/p>\n

Of the 16 Chase driers, 15 finished inside the top-19. Only Harvick who finished 42nd did not.<\/p>\n
