Denny Hamlin won the second Budweiser Duel held Thursday night at Daytona International Speedway.\u00a0He crossed the start finishing line of the 60 lap (150 mile) race first ahead of Jeff Gordon.<\/p>\n

The race began with Martin Truex Jr. \u00a0on the pole by virtue of his speed on Sunday. Truex Jr. would have started the Daytona 5oo from the front row but was involved in a last lap crash<\/a>. He will now have to go to a backup car.<\/p>\n

Thursday nights race marked the first time that the annual Duel race that leads up to the Daytona 500 was held at night under the lights. Previously the race had always been held during the day on Thursday and prior to that, it was held on a Wednesday.<\/p>\n
