\nKurt Busch is still considering a run in the Indianapolis 500.<\/p>\n

Busch would become the first driver to compete in both Memorial Day races, Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600, since Robby Gordon in 2004.<\/p>\n

While Busch says sponsorship is not an issue he is concerned about testing time adding that his age could make future attempts at the event difficult.<\/p>\n

“Testing, we still would probably need to go to Fontana [Calif.], or we’re just going to have to bite the bullet and show up at Indy and let ‘er rip,” Busch said, via ESPN<\/a>. “But I turn 36 this summer and to me that’s like an artificial drawing a line in the sand of ‘I’m getting too old.’ I can’t teach myself new tricks. You can show up at Indy as a 20-year-old and go and do that. So I’m thinking this is probably the cutoff year.”<\/p>\n

One underlying storyline could be Andretti Autosport’s switch from Chevrolet to Honda. Busch will compete in a Chevrolet for Stewart-Haas Racing this season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. But Busch told ESPN that he had received an offer from another team outside of Andretti.<\/p>\n

Busch said that his Sprint Cup Series owner Tony Stewart is supportive of the Indy run.<\/p>\n

“Tony is like, ‘Man, I will be there with you. We will use my plane and we’ll go,'” Busch said. “It’s really neat to have his enthusiasm.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
