NASCAR at Talladega: Spring 2018 Race Weekend Schedule, Start times and tv info

Both the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and the Xfinity Series will be in action this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. Known for close racing, big wrecks and the draft, Talladega is the second Superspeedway race of the 2018 season.

On track activity begins midday on Friday with both series seeing track time before turning over to qualifying on Saturday and the running of the Xfinity Series’ Sparks Energy 300. Finally on Sunday the Cup Series will run the annual Geico 500.

Saturday, April 28
11 a.m.: NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying, FS1
1:05 p.m.: Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Busch Pole Qualifying, FOX
3 p.m.: NASCAR Xfinity Sparks Energy 300 (113 laps, 300.58 miles), FOX

Sunday, April 29
2 p.m.: Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series GEICO 500 (188 laps, 500.8 miles), FOX

Weather

Temps will get as high as 73 with cloud cover on Friday before peaking at a high of 77 on Saturday. The sun continues onto Sunday even as the temps drop to a high of 69. With little chance of rain, this should be one of the better events to attend weatherwise.
