Former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski was the fastest of 36 cars that took to the track for NASCAR Nationwide Series practice on Friday morning. In fact the first seven cars on the speed chart are all Sprint Cup Series regulars with Chase Elliott being eighth.
Keselowski knows a little about getting round Watkins Glen winning the Nationwide Series event there last season. The driver of the No. 22 Ford Mustang ran 11 laps with a best time of 72.123 seconds beating out Paul Menard and Marcos Ambrose. Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth rounded out the top five.
The Nationwide Series will practice once again on Friday before qualifying and running The Zippo 200 at the Glen on Saturday.
