NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Kurt Busch and F1 champion Jacques Villenevue headline a group of five drivers who will be taking the orientation/refresher course for this years Indianapolis 500.

Drivers are required to take the orientation or “veteran driver refresher” if they want to be eligible to compete in the May 25th running of the Indianapolis 500.

Busch and Villeneuve – the 1995 winner of the Indy 500 – will be joined by  Mikhail Aleshin, Martin Plowman and Jack Hawksworth for the orientation which will take place on Tuesday April 29th and Monday May 5th.

Villeneuve will only have to complete the final two phases of the three-phase program to be recertified to race in the 500 because of his prior experience there. Oddly Villenevue has only run two races at Indy in his career and this will be the first race in almost 20 years.

Ideally all five of the drivers could get their course done in the first day allowing them to either practice or get additional instruction on the second day.
