Jimmie Johnson turned the fastest lap in the first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice session at Auto Club Speedway.
The driver of the No. 48 Lowes Chevrolet turned in a lap of 188.664 on Friday afternoon at the 2-mile low banked D-shaped oval located in Fontana, CA. Johnson is the series winningest driver at the track with five career wins.
Rounding out the top five were Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer, Dale Earnahrdt Jr and Brad Keselowski in the 90 minute session.
