When the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to Richmond at the end of April the Phoenix Racing team will not have Ryan Truex behind the wheel. Instead of Truex it will be AJ Allmendinger driving the No, 51 car at the 3/4 mile track.

Truex broke his collarbone in two places on Easter. The younger brother of Martin Truex will make his Cup debut at Dover.

Allmendinger is attempting to run a part-time schedule in both the Cup and IndyCar series. He finished 19th at Barber Motorsports Park. His schedule is set to change as it was recently announced that he would compete in the IndyCar event at Long Beach on April 21, even though he was to race at Kansas for Phoenix Racing that weekend.

Currently the seat of Allmendinger is in the No. 51 car for the upcoming race at Texas according to Fox Sports but things could change.
