Steve Wallace for RWI racing at Richmond

This winter one of the casualties of the struggle to find sponsorship was the NASCAR Nationwide team of Rusty Wallace Inc. When the team failed to find adequate sponsorship for Steve Wallace they closed their doors. Michael Annett was released from his contract and allowed to sign elsewhere.

It appears that RWI will be coming back to the Nationwide series with Wallace behind the wheel. Steve will drive the car at the upcoming race in Richmond in two weeks according to his Uncle Kenny Wallace.

Kenny Wallace posted the following comment on twitter recently.

“YES Rusty and Steven will be racing at Richmond in 2 weeks with RWI back by popular demand

There has been no word on who or if there is a sponsor for the car. When RWI was unable to find a sponsor for Steve, the son of NASCAR legend Rusty Wallace,  sought opportunities with other organizations. Nothing turned up for him however.

In 11 starts at Richmond Wallace has a 16.4 average finish with a top-5 and two top-10’s on his resume. Last season he had finishes of 11th and 16th at the 3/4 mile track.
