The move is a bit uninspiring given Callaspo&#8217;s lackluster .223\/.290\/.290 line with four homers and 39 RBI in 451 plate appearances last season with the Athletics.<\/p>\n<p>In order to make room for C the Braves have designated reliever Anthony Varvaro for assignment.<\/p>\n<p>Varvaro, 30, has had a good run in the Braves bullpen over the last four seasons compiling a 2.99 ERA in 153 career appearances including a 2.63 ERA last season.<\/p>\n<p>Surely someone will claim him on waivers.
