The Cleveland Indians are now talking to starting pitcher Edwin Jackson about a contract for 2013. Jackson is also being courted by the Texas Rangers and Chicago Cubs.<\/p>\n

Bidding for Jackson is reaching the four-year and $50 million mark reports<\/a> John Heyman. Last season Jackson pitched for the Washington Nationals posting a 10-11 record and a 4.03 ERA in 31 starts. Jackson was the only member of the Nationals staff to have a losing record and also had the highest ERA of anyone who made more then six starts.<\/p>\n

\"\"In a ten year career Jackson is 70-71 with a 4.40 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP. He has also spent time with Los Angeles, Tampa Bay, Detroit, Arizona, Chicago (A), and St. Louis.<\/p>\n

Cleveland has also been courting former Yankee outfielder Nick Swisher. Swisher is known to have drawn interest from Boston and had been talking to Seattle until recently. Swisher visited Cleveland<\/a> yesterday and was met by former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel among others.<\/p>\n
