\nGiancarlo Stanton has predictably been a driving force in the success of the Miami Marlins this season. <\/p>\n

The All-Star slugger boasts a .299\/.407\/.566 line with 33 home runs and 97 RBI though 130 games played this season but those thinking that the suddenly competitive Marlins have a better chance to re-sign Stanton need to think twice.<\/p>\n

“Five months,” Stanton said, via Yahoo Sports<\/a>, “doesn’t change five years.”<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way I felt last year, with the whole situation of losing and not playing my best, that was one of the worst feelings I ever had,\u201d he explained. \u201cI put it as a waste of time. I spent all that time in the offseason. To lose 100 games and to not do my best? It was like, \u2018What\u2019d I do all that in the offseason for?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Entering Tuesday the Marlins are right at .500 on the year but are just 3 games out in the Wild Card race. With six contests against Atlanta in their next ten games they will know a-lot about their future in a short amount of time.<\/p>\n
