\nMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun continues to deal with a nerve issue in his right thumb. While Bran has played in 98 of the Brewers first 122 games he was given Thursday off.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve discussed a lot of different options,\u201d said Braun<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019ve looked into a lot of different things. We\u2019re constantly evaluating it. We\u2019ve talked to a lot of people.”<\/p>\n

Braun had recorded just one hit in 12 at-bats in the Brewers current series against the Chicago Cubs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s some thought that it could just eventually go away. And I think if there was a surgery that everybody was really confident would heal the injury and there wouldn\u2019t be any side effects, we would have already done it.” added Braun. “But because it isn\u2019t something there is a lot of information on, it\u2019s not something that\u2019s been done often, we just need to continue to gather information. It\u2019s not like I can\u2019t play. I obviously can play.\u201d<\/p>\n

The outfielder has had pain in his right hand since last May due to an inflamed nerve near the base of his right thumb. The Brewers had hoped that Braun’s suspension last season would serve as a suitable rest period in lieu of surgery.<\/p>\n
