He is expected to play a few games before being activated as soon as Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Gattis has been out of action with a bulging disc in his upper back since the end of June. Recently he has been taking batting practice with Low-A Rome.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to going on the disabled list the 27-year-old Gattis was hitting a robust .290\/.342\/.558 with 16 home runs and 39 RBI.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Evan Gattis will begin his minor league rehab assignment on Thursday.
