\nJon Lester tabled contract talks with the Boston Red Sox so that they would not be a distraction for him during the season.<\/p>\n

According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports<\/a>, Lester was surprised when the Red Sox attempted to rekindle contract talks in seaosn.<\/p>\n

This winter Lester rejected a four-year deal worth approximately $70 million. The pitcher is expected to be seeking at-least $100 million in a new deal, a number the Red Sox apparently are willing to meet according to team sources.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the time is right, we can talk about it,\u201d Lester told CBSSports.com Monday night.<\/p>\n
