Odrisamer Despaigne ended up starting in place of Cashner on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>To make room for Despaigne on the 40-man roster the Padres placed Casey Kelley on the 60-day DL.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Saders of the\u00a0<a style=\"font-weight: 600 !important; color: #3d8ce9;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.utsandiego.com\/news\/2014\/jun\/23\/padres-giants-lineups-cashner-shoulder-dl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">San Diego Union Tribune<\/a>\u00a0says that Cashner&#8217;s elbow is sound and the Padres are simply playing it safe by placing him on the DL retroactive to June 21.<\/p>\n<p>In 12 starts this season Cashner owns a 2.36 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP to go with \u00a059\/22 K\/BB ratio.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Andrew Cashner is returning to the 15-day disabled list, this time with a sore shoulder.
