Andrelton Simmons left Tuesday’s game with inflammation in his right ankle, something manager Fredi Gonzalez says\u00a0the\u00a0Atlanta Braves shortstop has been dealing with for weeks.<\/p>\n

The Braves took Simmons out of the game on Tuesday night and currently have him listed as day-to-day.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt started nagging me a little bit during the inning,\u201d Simmons said via the Atlanta Journal Constituion<\/a>. \u201cThen it wouldn\u2019t go away. I tried playing on but just didn\u2019t feel like I was going to help my team. I was going to hurt them more if I stayed in there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simmons received some treatment during the game and is hopeful to play in Boston on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHopefully (I\u2019m) ready to go tomorrow,\u201d Simmons said. \u201cIt\u2019s not like a nine out of 10 pain. It\u2019s not a terrible pain. It\u2019s just a nagging thing, so hopefully it stops nagging.\u201d<\/p>\n
