Leave it to Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura to put it all in perspective.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s not dying, he\u2019s just retiring,\u201d Ventura said Sunday, according to Comcast SportsNet Chicago. \u201cIt\u2019s weird. I\u2019m sure it\u2019s uncomfortable for him going through all of it, but he\u2019s a great player.\u201d <\/p>\n
Meanwhile White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko is also retiring to little fanfare.<\/p>\n
The White Sox handed over a bench, some dirt from Old Comiskey and a $5,000 donation to Jeter’s charity when he visited U.S. Celluar this weekend.<\/p>\n
Alerted of Ventura’s comments, Jeter said he was right on.<\/p>\n
