Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez is still dealing with tendinitis in his left knee.<\/p>\n

“I feel a little better; still fighting with that knee,” Gonzalez\u00a0said. “I think it’s showing in stolen bases. It’s kind of slowed down a lot. But I continue to get treatment every day, and hopefully it gets better and I can bring that speed back to the club.”<\/p>\n

It is easy to wonder if the tendinitis is affecting Gonzalez at the plate.\u00a0The 28-year-old is hitting .275\/.318\/.485 (106 OPS+) with seven home runs and 29 RBI though 42 gamesz. Those numbers would be adequate for some but Gonzalez is coming off two All-Star seasons that saw him post OPS+ of 122 and 144.<\/p>\n

“Sometimes thinking about my hitting mechanics, and sometimes it bothers me (there) too, to have the leg kick and sit on that knee,” he said. “When I’m having that pain, even without trying, my reaction is to just get (off) that knee and jump out front.”<\/p>\n

“Right now, I’m just trying to concentrate on playing every day,” he said. “That’s what’s most important for this club: keep my legs in the game and my body there. Like we were saying in spring training, our goal is to play 150-plus games \u2014 me and (Troy Tulowitzki). We understand if we do that, this team is going to be in a good position.”<\/p>\n
