It is no secret that the Dodgers want to keep Ramirez in their lineup but there appears to be a difference in what the two sides view as appropriate compensation.<\/p>\n<p>Ramirez, eligible for free agency after this season, is wanting a deal that pays in excess of $130 million according to Jon Heyman of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/mlb\/writer\/jon-heyman\/24563665\/dodgers-love-hanley-and-are-talking-about-big-deal-but-work-remains\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">CBS Sports<\/a>. Any new deal for Ramirez would figure to approach or surpass $25 million a season.<\/p>\n<p>This last offseason the Texas Rangers handed over $130 million to Shin-Soo Choo while the New York Yankees gave Jacoby Ellsbury $153 million.<\/p>\n<p>Ramirez, 30, is hitting .253\/.331\/.440 with five hme runs and 19 RBI across 41 games this season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Few players in baseball have put up the numbers that Hanley Ramirez has produced since he joined the Los Angeles Dodgers.
