Now the former basketball player is picking up a different ball.<\/p>\n<p>McGrady has made the Sugarland Skeeters as a pitcher according to a press release from the team. For five years McGrady played for the Houston Rockets so one could easily summarize that Sugerland is hoping to sell some tickets to fans hoping to catch a shot of McGrady hitting 90-mph on the radar gun.<\/p>\n<div>\u201cIt\u2019s an honor to be a part of this club for the 2014 season,\u201d said\u00a0McGrady. \u201cTo be a part of the team means everything to me and it\u2019s a dream come true. I look forward to coming to the ballpark not only to play the game but to be i<\/div>\n<div>n the clubhouse building camaraderie with these guys. I am excited to start the journey we\u2019re going to take this season.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The 6-foot-8, right-handed pitcher made his first appearance against Alvin Community College on April 16 allowing a run and three hits in one inning of work.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cWe are excited about our team this season and having Tracy McGrady as a part of it,\u201d said Skeeters Manager\u00a0Gary Gaetti. \u201cWe\u2019re also excited to see what unique opportunities this could present for us in putting a good product on the field and we look forward to Tracy helping us win some ball games.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0Other players on the Skeeters roster that you may have head of include Delwyn Young, Koby Clemens (son of Roger Clemens), Ryan Langerhans, Gary Majewski, Tim Corcoran and David Pauley.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tracy McGrady spent 16 seasons in the NBA, appearing in seven All-Star games.
