The Los Angeles Angels and \u00a0outfielder Mike Trout have reached terms on a six-year contract extension worth $144.5 million according to MLB’s Alden Gonzalez.<\/p>\n

A six-year deal between Trout and the Angels would buy out his first three years of arbitration and three years of free agency. The $24.1 million average annual value makes Trout the third Angels player to earn $24 million a season, Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton are the others.<\/p>\n

There have been rumblings of a deal between these two sides for months. Considering Trout has been a runner up to Miguel Cabrera for the the AL MVP the last two seasons, it is only fitting that a deal between Trout and the Angles would get done shortly after Cabrera’s recent extension.<\/p>\n

Trout, 22, agreed to a one-year contract with the Angels in February worth $1 million.<\/p>\n
