He said on Saturday that it was doubtful that he would be ready for Opening Day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat would be a huge bonus if I was ready (for the start of the season),\u201d Crain said via the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.chron.com\/ultimateastros\/2014\/02\/01\/new-astros-pitcher-crain-hopes-to-miss-minimal-time-during-regular-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Houston Chronicle<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m not planning on that. I would be surprised if I was ready by then.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Crain\u00a0underwent right biceps surgery in October and will begin throwing this week.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Astros signed Crain to a $3.25 million free-agent deal in the offseason.<\/p>\n<p>If\/when healthy Crain stands as good a chance as anyone does in the Astros pen for collecting saves.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Houston Astros reliever Jesse Crain is uncertain about when he will make his season debut.
