After being acquired mid-season, Broxton was a pivotal part of the Reds bullpen.<\/p>\n<p>Broxton will be guaranteed at least $21 million over the life of the contract. His salary for 2013 is set at $4 million before raising to $7 million in 2014 and $9 million in 2015.\u00a0 There is also a club option for 2016 which is worth$9 million but it can be declined with a $1 million buyout.<\/p>\n<p>With the signing of Broxton the Reds are expected to move Aroldis Chapman into the starting rotation.<\/p>\n<p>Splitting time between the Kansas City Royals and the Reds, Broxton produced a 2.48 ERA and 27 saves between the Royals and Reds.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Cincinnati Reds have re-signed reliever Jonathan Broxton.
