Instead they got a very inconsistent pitcher who holds a 5.59 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP over 13 starts.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday the Angels sent the 26-year-old right hander to Triple-A Salt Lake.<\/p>\n<p>The Angels will activate Jason Vargas for Tuesday&#8217;s game which will bump Hanson from the rotation. Clearly the Angels see no value in keeping Hanson in the bullpen and have made the easy decision to send him down.<\/p>\n<p>Vargas returns to a 3.65 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP in 14 starts this season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Los Angeles Angels had hoped that Tommy Hanson would solve some of their rotation questions.
