Teahen, 31, has not appeared in the major leagues since 2011 and was hitting just .211 for Triple-A Reno.<\/p>\n<p>The seven year veteran will receive some interest as a free agent and should not have to sit out too long before getting another gig even with a .211\/.318\/.254 line this season.<\/p>\n<p>A former first round pick of the Oakland A&#8217;s, Teahen is nothing more then minor league depth at this point in his career. He finished the 2012 season in the Washington Nationals system finishing with a .260\/.328\/.360 line.<\/p>\n<p>The Reds attempted to acquire Teahen at the end of spring training but he was unable to pass a physical.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mark Teahen asked and was granted his release from the Arizona Diamondbacks.
