The surgery was performed by team physician Dr. Georg Paletta and has been called a success according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dgoold\/status\/331826754756939776\" target=\"_blank\">St. Louis Post Dispatch<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Motte attempted to rehab the torn ligament in his elbow initially but opted for surgery after experiencing a setback lat week.<\/p>\n<p>The former closer will miss the rest of the 2013 season and will likely miss the start of the 2014 season.
