Colorado Rockies first baseman Todd Helton put in a plea of “guilty” on Tuesday regarding his arrest on Feb 6, 2013. Helton was initially charged with driving under the influence and careless driving but those charges were dismissed as a part of a plea deal Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Helton\u00a0 was remorseful and apologized in court according to the<\/a> Denver Post.\"TODD<\/p>\n

“I am very regretful,” he said. “I have taken measures to ensure it never happens again.”<\/p>\n

Helton’s guilty plea to “driving while ability impaired, ” granted him 24 hours of community service, a year of probation and a $400 fine.Helton admitted in police reports that he drank “two igloo cups of red wine” that night. His blood alcohol level was .102.<\/div>\n

To bad no amount of community service or apologies will make up for that mugshot.The 39 year old first baseman is hitting .267 with 1 home run in 49 plate appearances.<\/p>\n

“I exercised poor judgment and was charged with drinking and driving after driving to a gas station near my house. I am very sorry and embarrassed by my actions. I hold myself to a high standard and take my responsibility as a public figure very seriously,” it said. “My entire career I have worked to set a positive example for my family and in our community and I fell far short of this standard. I sincerely ask my family, the Colorado Rockies organization, Major League Baseball and the community to accept my apology. I make no excuses and accept full responsibility for my actions.
