Lyles had been expected to occupy a spot in the Astros rotation.<\/p>\n<p>Lyles struggled this spring in action. In 11 2\/3 innings of work the right handed pitcher had an 17.74 ERA.<\/p>\n<p>With the demotion of Lyles the Astros appear set to start the season with Erik Bedard as their fourth starter and either Brad Peacock or Alex White as the fifth.<\/p>\n<p>The 22-year-old Lyles would likely return to the Astros if he fares well at Triple-A.
