Wang pitched six scoreless innings as Chinese Taipei beat Australia 4-1 in the WBC opener.<\/p>\n<p>Wang allowed four hits in the contest and struck out two but managed to stay under the 65-pitch limit for the classics opening round.<\/p>\n<p>While Wang&#8217;s numbers look good on paper there should be concern with the velocity he displayed. Reports say that Wang topped out at 82-83 mph on the stadiums radar gun. Wang averaged 91 mph last season when he was a member of the Washington Nationals.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Yankees were one team that watched Wang on Friday night. Wang could be an option for the Yankees with Phil Hughes dealing with a back injury.
