Hafner will make roughly $2 million during the 2013 season while playing primarily as the teams designated hitter.<\/p>\n<p>Signing Hafner provides provides the Yankees with a low-cost gamble.<\/p>\n<p>Hafner has spent the last ten years with the Cleveland Indians but has appeared in more then 100 games once since the beginning of the 2008 season.<\/p>\n<p>From 2004-2007 Hafner was one of baseball&#8217;s better power hitters. Since that time he has managed a mere 59 home runs and 214 RBI over 429 games.<\/p>\n<p>Hafner, 35, batted .228 with 12 home runs and 34 RBIs in 64 games for the Indians last season.
