Entering his second year of salary arbitration, the Rays found trading Boxberger to be one way to lower team payroll for the 2018 season.<\/p>\n<p>Boxberger, 29, missed three months to start the 2017 season due to lat and forearm issues but pitched fairly well upon rejoining the team. He finished the year with a 3.38 ERA, 1.159 WHIP and a 40\/11 K\/BB ratio across 29 1\/3 innings of work.<\/p>\n<p>The Rays are likely not done making trades.
