The Cubs will start right-hander Jake Arrieta.<\/p>\n<p>Last season Bruce topped 100 RBI for the first time and hit 30 or more home runs for the third straight year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reds release Dan Johnson<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Reds have also released veteran Dan Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson, 35, failed to earn a spot on the bench for the Houston Astros this spring and later signed on to a minor league deal with the Reds. He was just 2-for-29 in his nine games with Triple-A Louisville.<\/p>\n<p>Despite an ability to hit at the minor league level, Johnson has never been able to stick as a regular at the big league level.
