The Texas Rangers have signed pitcher Tommy Hanson to a minor league deal.
Hanson, 27, will also receive an invitation to spring training with the hopes of winning a spot at the back end of the rotation as the Rangers will start the season without Derek Holland.
The Los Angles Angles acquired Hanson last season but saw the right hander struggle with a 5.42 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP while dealing with injuries and the death of his step-brother.
For Hanson it may be the last chance to turn his career around.
