Mets re-sign reliever Tim Byrdak to minor league deal

Whether or not Tim Byrdak pitches in 2013 is uncertain. Still, the left handed reliever has re-signed with the New York Mets on a minor league contract. Byrdak had surgery on both his left shoulder and right knee in September.

The 39 year old Byrdak pitched in 56 games for the Mets last season. He finished the year with a 4.40 ERA and a 34/18 K/BB ratio over 30 2/3 innings.

Byrdak has spent 11 seasons in the majors, the last two with the Mets.
