The Toronto Blue Jays have reached a two-year deal with free agent catcher Dioner Navarro.
Navarro, 29, hit .300/.365/.492 with 13 home runs and 34 RBI in 89 games this past season for the Cubs.
Under terms of the deal between Navarro and the Blue Jays the catcher will make a total of $8 million.
With the acquisition of Navarro the Blue Jays are now trying to trade J.P. Arenciba. Just 27, Arencibia has decent power despite being a poor defender behind the plate and owning a .258 career on base percentage.

The Blue Jays will hope that Navarro comes close to matching his totals from last season.
