Alex Cobb has fluid build up in his ear according to Rays manager Joe Maddon.
Cobb took a line drive off the right side of his head and was diagnosed with a concussion last weekend.
“He’s doing really well, there’s not this high level of concern,” Maddon told reporters on Wednesday. “It’s just a matter of working through the initial impact — which was incredible as you all saw — and being patient with it.”
There is no clear timetable for Cobb’s return. Cobb has made 13 starts for the Rays compiling a 6-2 record, 3.01 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP.
